Accessibility Statement
Our approach to making Gyfts usable for everyone.
Our Commitment
Gyfts aims to support the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA where reasonably practicable. Accessibility is an ongoing effort rather than a fixed end-state, and we are continuing to improve the accessibility of the platform over time.
This statement describes the measures we have taken, the standards we work towards, the limitations we are aware of, and how you can tell us about accessibility problems so we can address them.
Standards We Work Towards
We use WCAG 2.2 AA as our reference standard and are mindful of the requirements of the European Accessibility Act and the harmonised standard EN 301 549. We have not undergone an independent third-party accessibility audit, so we do not claim full conformance with these standards. Where this statement describes features, it describes our current implementation and intent, not certified compliance.
What We Have Done
Measures we have built into the platform include:
- Semantic HTML landmarks (header, main, navigation, footer) so assistive technology can orient within a page.
- A “skip to main content” link, available on keyboard focus, to bypass repeated navigation.
- Keyboard operability for interactive controls, with visible focus indicators.
- A minimum 44 × 44 pixel target size for primary interactive elements.
- Colour managed through a central design-token system with light and dark themes, chosen with contrast in mind.
- Responsive layouts that support zoom and reflow on smaller viewports.
- Descriptive labels and alternative text for meaningful imagery and controls.
Known Limitations
We are aware that some areas do not yet fully meet our target. These include:
- Third-party embedded content (for example videos or maps) whose accessibility we do not directly control.
- Some complex, interactive components that are still being reviewed and improved.
- Administrative and content-management tooling, which is not intended for general public use.
We are working to reduce these limitations and will update this statement as we make progress.
Feedback & Contact
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on Gyfts, or need information from the platform provided in a different format, please contact us. We welcome your feedback and aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe.
When reporting a problem, it helps if you can tell us the page address, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology or browser you were using.
Ongoing Improvement
We review accessibility as part of our ongoing development and update this statement periodically. The “last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision.
