Initial Consultation
Your practitioner will begin by understanding your history, current concerns, and what prompted you to seek Soul Retrieval. They may ask about significant traumas, periods of numbness or disconnection, or feelings of incompleteness. This conversation helps establish intention and allows the practitioner to understand what aspects of yourself you hope to recover. You'll also discuss what to expect during the session and address any questions.
Treatment
During the session, you'll typically be guided to lie down or sit in a comfortable position in a quiet space. The practitioner may use drumming, rattling, or guided visualization to enter a trance or meditative state—sometimes the practitioner journeys while you remain present, or both may enter a journey together. The practitioner reports traveling to non-ordinary realms (using shamanic cosmology) to locate lost soul fragments or aspects of yourself that separated during difficult experiences. Once located, these fragments are "retrieved" and brought back, often symbolically or through narrative. You may experience vivid imagery, emotions, or physical sensations during this time. The session typically concludes with integration practices, such as breathing exercises or affirmations, to help anchor the retrieved aspects into your present awareness.
After Treatment
Many clients report feeling noticeably different immediately after a session—some feel lighter, more present, or emotionally open. Others may experience emotional release or need time to process what emerged. It's common to feel tired or to have vivid dreams in the days following a session as your psyche integrates the work. Practitioners often recommend journaling, spending time in nature, or engaging in grounding activities to support integration.
Follow-up Sessions
Soul Retrieval is often part of an ongoing healing journey rather than a one-time fix. Some practitioners recommend follow-up sessions weeks or months later, or as part of a series. The number of sessions needed varies greatly depending on individual circumstances, the depth of trauma, and your personal healing goals.
