The Australian Sound Healers Association (ASHA) is a professional association based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, supporting sound healing and sound therapy within complementary wellbeing settings. Founded by Leith James, our work brings practitioner education, professional standards, and community support together. We offer structured training and certification pathways for people learning to facilitate group sound baths and individual sound sessions. Our approach combines practical instrument skills with trauma-informed facilitation, ethical responsibilities, and clear professional boundaries. Training includes online learning, live sessions, assessments, and practical application. Our membership options support students and practising sound therapists through an online community, educational resources, networking, and course and event discounts. Eligible practitioners can apply for public liability and professional indemnity insurance, while qualifying Gold members can list their services in our public practitioner directory. We place cultural respect, practitioner responsibility, and scope of practice at the centre of our work. Through education and ongoing professional development, we help practitioners build their skills, understand when referral is appropriate, and offer sound-based wellbeing experiences responsibly.
