Aṉangu Ngangkaṟi Tjutaku Aboriginal Corporation (ANTAC) is a groundbreaking, nationally recognized organization of Aboriginal traditional healers and the first of its kind in Australia. Established as an Indigenous-led social enterprise and registered charity, ANTAC unites senior Ngangkaṟi—traditional healers belonging to the Aṉangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands of Central Australia—to make authentic Aboriginal healing accessible to both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities. Operating at the intersection of ancient wisdom and modern institutional care, the corporation serves as a vital bridge, protecting Australia’s oldest continuous medical tradition while actively integrating it into contemporary health, welfare, and social frameworks. ANTAC delivers a comprehensive suite of professional Ngangkaṟi interventions, encompassing clinical health collaborations, cross-cultural training, educational workshops, and direct healing treatments tailored for individuals, mainstream hospitals, correctional facilities, and community organizations. ANTAC’s Ngangkaṟi Services are delivered by accredited ngangkaṟi members of the Aṉangu Ngangkaṟi Tjutaku Aboriginal Corporation. The ngangkaṟi are accredited through a strict accreditation process in accordance with Ngangkariku Tjukurpa, that is Ngangkari’s Law which stands at the core of the Ngangkaṟi’s traditional medical knowledge system. The process of accreditation is set out in rule 3.4 of the ANTAC’s Rulebook. All accredited ngangkaṟiare listed in the Register of Ngangkaṟi. Through regular clinical sessions in major urban centers including Adelaide, Sydney, and Melbourne, as well as outreach across remote regions, these traditional healers provide profound emotional, spiritual, and physical restoration. By championing cultural self-determination, professional recognition, and holistic wellness, ANTAC ensures that the sacred healing knowledge of the Aṉangu continues to nurture reconciliation, emotional safety, and multi-generational well-being across contemporary Australia.
