Arthur Findlay College is a residential and online education centre dedicated to Spiritualism, mediumship and spiritual development. Based at Stansted Hall in Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex, England, the college welcomes students exploring these subjects for personal interest or to develop their practice. Administered by the Spiritualists’ National Union, the college officially opened in 1966 following Arthur Findlay’s gift of his home and estate to the Union in 1964. His vision established a permanent setting for the study of Spiritualist philosophy and the training of mediums and speakers. Its programme includes courses in mediumship, psychic development, trance, Spiritualist healing and related disciplines. Teaching combines practical exercises, lectures and demonstrations, with options for beginners and more experienced students. Online courses extend access to those unable to attend in person. Residential students stay within the historic estate, with full-board accommodation, gardens, a lake, library and museum providing space for study and reflection. The college also offers private spiritual readings, public Spiritualist services and opportunities to explore the history of the movement. Education and practice at Arthur Findlay College take place within a Spiritualist religious and philosophical framework, bringing together structured learning, shared exploration and community.
