Preparing for Your Session

Arrive wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing in natural fabrics if possible. Many practitioners suggest avoiding synthetic materials, though this isn't essential. You'll likely be lying down or seated for extended periods, so choose clothes that won't restrict your breathing or movement.

Eat a light meal 2-3 hours beforehand rather than arriving hungry or overly full. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior, and limit caffeine on the day - practitioners often mention that stimulants can interfere with energy sensitivity, though experiences vary significantly between individuals.

Bring a water bottle and perhaps a notebook if you like to record insights. Some practitioners provide these, but having your own ensures you're comfortable. Consider your intentions for the session - what patterns or areas of your life feel stuck? - but don't feel pressured to articulate these perfectly.

The Session Begins

Most sessions start with 15-20 minutes of conversation in a quiet, softly lit space. Your practitioner will ask about your current concerns, life patterns that feel repetitive or challenging, and any spiritual or energetic work you've experienced before. This isn't therapy, but rather an exploration of where you feel blocked or stagnant.

Next comes the assessment phase, lasting 10-15 minutes. You'll typically lie on a massage table or comfortable surface while the practitioner works around your body, sometimes with hands hovering a few inches above you, sometimes with gentle touch. They may focus on chakra points, run their hands along your meridians, or simply tune into what they perceive as your energetic state.

During assessment, some people feel warmth, coolness, or tingling sensations. Others notice emotional responses - sudden sadness, relief, or memories surfacing. Many feel nothing dramatic at all. Your practitioner may share their impressions of where they sense blocks or stagnations, often describing these in terms of chakra imbalances, energetic congestion, or spiritual disconnection.

The Clearing Work

The main portion of your session - typically 30-45 minutes - involves the actual clearing techniques. These vary enormously between practitioners but often include guided breathing exercises, visualisation work, or energy manipulation using the practitioner's hands.

You might be guided to breathe into specific areas of your body whilst the practitioner works with their hands positioned above or lightly touching those regions. Some practitioners use crystals, tuning forks, or other tools during this phase. Others work purely with intention and energy direction.

Visualisations commonly involve imagining light moving through your body, seeing colours changing in your chakras, or envisioning the release of dark or heavy energy. Your practitioner may guide you to dialogue with stuck emotions or patterns, asking what they need or what messages they carry.

Physical sensations during clearing can be quite varied. Some people experience waves of heat or cold, emotional releases including tears or laughter, or a sense of energy moving through their body. Others feel deeply relaxed, almost meditative. A few experience temporary intensity - fleeting anxiety, sadness, or physical discomfort - as blocks are addressed.

What You Might Experience

During the session, your experience may include physical sensations like tingling, warmth, or a feeling of energy moving through your body. Emotional responses are common - you might feel unexpectedly tearful, peaceful, or emotionally lighter. Some people experience vivid mental imagery or sudden insights about their life patterns.

In the hours following your session, you may feel unusually tired or energised. Sleep patterns sometimes shift temporarily, and dreams can be particularly vivid. Emotional processing often continues - you might find yourself more sensitive than usual, or notice old emotions surfacing for resolution.

Not everyone has dramatic experiences. Some people report subtle shifts - feeling slightly more optimistic, sleeping better, or noticing that certain triggers affect them less intensely. These gentler changes often become apparent over days rather than immediately.

Aftercare and Integration

Drink plenty of water in the 24 hours following your session - practitioners often emphasise this for supporting the body's natural processes. Avoid intense physical exercise, heavy meals, or emotionally demanding situations for the rest of the day if possible.

Gentle movement like walking or stretching can feel supportive. Many people benefit from journalling about their experience whilst it's fresh, noting any insights, emotions, or physical sensations that arose.

Be patient with the integration process. Changes, if they occur, often unfold gradually over the following week. Some people notice shifts in their response to familiar stressors, whilst others report feeling more connected to their intuition or spiritual practice.

Schedule some quiet time for reflection over the next few days. Avoid making major life decisions immediately after intensive spiritual work - allow time to process and integrate any insights that emerged.

Building a Course of Sessions

Most practitioners recommend an initial series of 3-4 sessions spaced 1-2 weeks apart. This allows time for integration between sessions whilst maintaining momentum for deeper work. Each session typically builds on the previous one, with practitioners noting how your energy feels different and what new blocks may have emerged for attention.

After this initial period, many people choose monthly or quarterly maintenance sessions, particularly during periods of significant life change or stress. Others prefer intensive blocks of work followed by longer breaks.

The number of sessions varies enormously based on individual needs and goals. Some people feel significant shifts after just one session, whilst others find that deeper patterns require more extensive work. Your practitioner should be honest about what they observe and avoid pressuring you into lengthy commitments.

Progress in this work is rarely linear. You may feel wonderful after one session and emotionally stirred after another. This is considered normal within the practice framework, reflecting the complex nature of spiritual and energetic patterns.
