Initial Consultation
Your first session typically begins with a confidential discussion about your current emotional state, any specific concerns, and your goals for therapy. The practitioner will explain the process, discuss what to expect, and address any questions you have. This is an important opportunity to establish trust and ensure the modality feels right for you. You may be asked about your emotional history, stress levels, and any physical sensations you notice when experiencing emotions.
Treatment
During a treatment session, the practitioner guides you through structured techniques designed to increase emotional awareness and facilitate release. These may include breathwork exercises, guided visualization, gentle movement, journaling prompts, or verbal expression in a safe, non-judgmental environment. The session typically lasts 60–90 minutes. You remain fully clothed and in control throughout; the practitioner acts as a supportive guide rather than a directive authority. You may be encouraged to express emotions through sound, movement, or conversation. Some techniques focus on identifying where emotions are held in the body and using breath or gentle pressure to support release. The pace is entirely adjusted to your comfort level.
After Treatment
Following a session, you may feel a sense of relief, lightness, or temporary emotional sensitivity as your nervous system recalibrates. Some people experience emotional clarity or insight, while others may feel tired and benefit from rest. It is common and normal to process emotions for a few hours or days after a session. The practitioner may suggest grounding techniques, self-care practices, or journaling to support your integration process. You are encouraged to drink water, move gently, and avoid major decisions immediately after treatment.
Follow-up Sessions
Many people benefit from ongoing or periodic sessions to deepen emotional awareness and address new or recurring patterns. Your practitioner will discuss a recommended frequency based on your needs and goals. Some clients attend weekly, while others space sessions further apart once they have established foundational skills. Between sessions, you may practice self-guided techniques learned during your treatment to continue supporting your emotional wellbeing.
