Initial Consultation
Your practitioner will typically begin by assessing your meditation experience level, current stress or health concerns, and personal goals. They will explain the fundamentals of eyes-closed meditation, discuss different techniques (such as breath awareness, body scanning, or mantra-based approaches), and help you identify which style may resonate most with you. This consultation establishes a comfortable, judgment-free environment and sets realistic expectations for your practice.
Treatment
During a guided session, you will be invited to find a comfortable seated or reclined position in a quiet space. Your instructor may begin with grounding techniques or gentle breathing exercises to calm the nervous system. You will then be guided to close your eyes gently and naturally, without forcing. The practitioner will use spoken guidance to direct your attention inward—perhaps focusing on your natural breath, body sensations, or a chosen focal point like a mantra or visualization. Sessions typically last 15 to 60 minutes, with the practitioner's voice helping maintain your focus and gently redirecting attention when the mind wanders. The pacing is slow, supportive, and designed to progressively deepen relaxation and awareness.
After Treatment
As the session concludes, you will be gently guided back to awareness of your surroundings. Your eyes may open naturally, or you may be invited to open them slowly. Many people experience a deep sense of calm, lightness, or mental clarity immediately following a session. Your practitioner may encourage you to sit quietly for a few moments before resuming normal activities, allowing the benefits to integrate. You may be offered herbal tea or water and given time to discuss your experience if desired.
Follow-up Sessions
Regular practice is often recommended to deepen the benefits of meditation. Many practitioners suggest daily home practice of 10–20 minutes, supported by periodic guided group or individual sessions (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly). Your instructor may offer recorded guided meditations for home use, gradually introducing new techniques or deeper practices as your skills develop. Progress is typically tracked through your own subjective sense of calm, mental clarity, sleep quality, and stress reduction rather than external metrics.
