Initial Consultation
The first session typically involves an in-depth conversation about your health history, current concerns, lifestyle patterns, values, and wellbeing goals. Your coach will ask open-ended questions to understand what matters most to you—whether that's managing a chronic condition, increasing energy, improving nutrition, reducing stress, or enhancing overall quality of life. This session establishes rapport, clarifies expectations, and helps identify 1–3 priority focus areas for ongoing work. You'll also discuss logistics: session frequency, format (in-person, phone, or video), and cost.
Treatment (Ongoing Sessions)
In regular sessions (typically 30–60 minutes, scheduled monthly or biweekly), your coach uses reflective listening, motivational interviewing, and educational support to help you move toward your goals. Sessions are collaborative: your coach does not prescribe or diagnose but rather helps you clarify values, identify barriers, brainstorm solutions, and commit to small, sustainable actions. A typical session may include reviewing progress since the last visit, exploring obstacles, setting realistic next steps, and identifying resources or accountability strategies. Your coach may provide education on nutrition, stress management, sleep hygiene, movement, or other wellness topics relevant to your goals. Between sessions, you implement changes at your own pace and track progress using methods that feel meaningful to you.
After Treatment
After each session, you'll receive a summary of key points discussed and agreed-upon action steps. Some coaches provide written resources, recipes, exercise videos, or tracking tools to support your work outside sessions. The tone is supportive and non-judgmental: if you didn't achieve a goal, the focus shifts to understanding what got in the way and adjusting the plan, not on shame or failure.
Follow-up Sessions
Continuing sessions deepen the work. Over time, you develop greater awareness of your patterns, stronger motivation, and tangible lifestyle changes. Many clients report that having a consistent, supportive relationship accelerates progress and helps sustain changes even after coaching ends. Sessions may become less frequent as you gain independence and confidence. Some clients work with a coach for 3–6 months; others engage longer for ongoing support, especially around complex health challenges.
