Initial Consultation
Your practitioner will begin by discussing your reasons for seeking regression work, any specific issues or patterns you want to explore, and your expectations. They will explain the process, answer questions about what regression feels like, and assess your openness to the experience. This conversation helps establish trust and allows the practitioner to tailor the session to your needs. You may also be asked about any medical or psychological conditions that could affect your comfort during guided imagery.
Treatment
Once you are settled in a comfortable, quiet space, your practitioner will guide you into a relaxed state using progressive relaxation, breathing techniques, or guided visualization. This hypnotic state is not sleep but rather a focused, calm awareness similar to daydreaming. From this relaxed state, the practitioner will use gentle suggestions and imagery to guide you backward through time, often asking you to notice impressions, scenes, emotions, or experiences that arise. You may describe locations, people, emotions, or events that feel vivid or symbolic. The practitioner will ask open-ended questions to help you explore these experiences without imposing interpretation. Throughout, you remain conscious and in control; you cannot be made to reveal anything or do anything against your will.
After Treatment
As the session closes, your practitioner will gradually guide you back to full waking consciousness, often using counting or gentle suggestions. You may feel deeply relaxed, emotionally moved, or contemplative. Some people report clarity or sudden insights, while others feel uncertain about what they experienced. Your practitioner will discuss what emerged during the session, help you reflect on any themes or messages, and suggest ways to integrate the experience. You may be encouraged to journal or sit with what arose before drawing conclusions.
Follow-up Sessions
Many practitioners recommend multiple sessions if you wish to explore further. Follow-up sessions allow you to delve deeper into specific past lives, explore different time periods, or work with particular themes or patterns. The frequency and number of sessions depend on your goals and comfort level. Some people return for one-off sessions years apart, while others commit to a series of monthly or weekly appointments. Your practitioner may suggest between-session practices such as journaling, meditation, or visualization to support your integration and continued exploration.
