Initial Consultation
Your first Jinlap Reiki session typically begins with a thorough consultation. The practitioner will ask about your health history, current concerns, stress levels, and what you hope to achieve through treatment. They may discuss your understanding of energy work and explain how Jinlap Reiki incorporates both Reiki and Tibetan techniques. This conversation helps the practitioner tailor the session to your individual needs and ensures you feel comfortable with the approach.
Treatment
During the hands-on portion, you will lie fully clothed on a massage table in a calm, dimly lit environment, often with soft music playing. The practitioner will place their hands gently on or slightly above your body, working with specific energy centers (chakras) and using a combination of Reiki hand positions and Tibetan symbols. You may feel warmth, tingling, or deep relaxation. The Tibetan symbols used are believed to amplify and direct healing energy more specifically than standard Reiki alone. Sessions typically last 60-90 minutes, though this varies by practitioner. Many people experience a state of deep relaxation or even sleep during treatment.
After Treatment
Following the session, you may feel deeply relaxed, peaceful, or energized—responses vary greatly between individuals. Some people experience emotional release or increased emotional awareness in the hours or days after treatment. The practitioner will often provide recommendations for self-care, such as drinking extra water, getting adequate rest, or practicing meditation. You may discuss any sensations or insights you noticed during the session.
Follow-up Sessions
Many practitioners recommend multiple sessions for sustained benefits, though this depends on your goals and the practitioner's assessment. Some people pursue weekly sessions initially, while others choose monthly maintenance appointments. The frequency and number of sessions is entirely up to you and your practitioner; there is no standardized protocol.
