Initial Consultation
Your practitioner will begin with a thorough discussion of your health history, current concerns, lifestyle, and wellness goals. They may ask about stress levels, sleep quality, emotional wellbeing, and any physical discomfort or tension you experience. This conversation helps the practitioner understand your individual constitution and energy patterns, allowing them to tailor their approach to your specific needs. You will discuss what to expect during treatment and have the opportunity to ask questions.
Treatment
Polarity Therapy sessions typically last 60–90 minutes and may include several components. The practitioner uses gentle, hands-on touch on clothed or lightly clothed areas of your body, working along energy pathways and at specific points believed to influence overall balance. Techniques may range from light, energetic touch to gentle pressure and stretching. Some portions of the session may be hands-off, with the practitioner's hands held near your body without making contact. You may also receive guidance on posture, gentle movements, or breathing exercises. Many sessions include reflective dialogue—the practitioner may ask questions or offer observations to support your self-awareness and emotional processing. The overall experience is typically calming and meditative.
After Treatment
You may feel deeply relaxed, energized, or emotionally open following a session. Some people experience mild sensations as their body integrates the work. Your practitioner may suggest resting, hydrating well, and moving gently for the remainder of the day. They may recommend self-care practices such as specific stretches, breathing exercises, or lifestyle adjustments to support the benefits of the session. It is normal to notice shifts in energy, mood, or physical comfort over the following days.
Follow-up Sessions
Many practitioners recommend an initial series of sessions (often weekly for 4–6 weeks) to establish a foundation of balance, followed by maintenance sessions as needed. The frequency depends on your individual goals and response. Your practitioner will periodically assess your progress and adjust techniques or recommendations accordingly. Over time, you may develop greater body awareness and ability to maintain balance independently through suggested practices.
