Initial Consultation
Your first session begins with a comprehensive health assessment where the practitioner reviews your medical history, current symptoms, and wellness goals. They will discuss your experience with acupuncture and sound therapy, assess your constitution according to Traditional Chinese Medicine principles, and explain how the combined treatment works. The practitioner will also check for any contraindications and answer your questions about the process.
Treatment
You'll lie comfortably on a treatment table in a quiet, dimly lit room. The practitioner begins by inserting fine acupuncture needles into specific points based on your individual needs and TCM diagnosis. Once the needles are placed, sound therapy begins using instruments such as tuning forks, singing bowls, or electronic frequency generators. The practitioner may place sound instruments near acupuncture points, move them around your body, or use them to create ambient therapeutic frequencies. Sessions typically last 45-60 minutes, with the sound component integrated throughout or applied after needle insertion.
After Treatment
After needle removal, you'll have time to rest and integrate the treatment effects. The practitioner may provide guidance on post-treatment care, including hydration recommendations and activities to avoid. Some people feel deeply relaxed, while others experience increased energy. Any temporary sensations or emotional releases are normal parts of the healing process.
Follow-up Sessions
Subsequent treatments build upon previous sessions, with the practitioner adjusting point selection and sound frequencies based on your progress and changing needs. Treatment plans are individualized, but most practitioners recommend an initial series of 6-8 sessions to establish therapeutic momentum.
