Initial Consultation
Your first Karuna Reiki session typically begins with a detailed consultation where the practitioner discusses your health history, current concerns, and healing intentions. They will explain how Karuna Reiki differs from other Reiki systems, describing the additional symbols and techniques that may be used. This is an opportunity to ask questions and establish comfort and trust. The practitioner will outline what to expect during the session and address any concerns.
Treatment
During the treatment, you will typically lie fully clothed on a massage table in a calm, quiet room. The practitioner may begin with centering and grounding practices, setting healing intentions for the session. They will then place their hands on or above your body in various positions, working with Karuna Reiki symbols and energy channels. The practitioner may focus on specific areas of concern, energy blockages, or chakras, spending extended time where intuition or your stated needs direct them. Many people report feeling warmth, tingling, or profound relaxation. Some experience emotional release or vivid mental imagery. Sessions typically last 60–90 minutes, though duration may vary.
After Treatment
After the session concludes, you may feel deeply relaxed, calm, or emotionally moved. The practitioner will typically give you time to rest before slowly returning to wakefulness. They may offer water and encourage you to sit quietly for a few moments. Many practitioners share observations or insights from the session, though they will emphasize that interpretations are intuitive rather than diagnostic. You may be advised to drink plenty of water, rest when possible, and be gentle with yourself as your body and emotions process the session.
Follow-up Sessions
Many practitioners recommend a series of sessions to support deeper healing, though frequency depends on your individual needs and goals. Some clients benefit from weekly sessions initially, then spacing them further apart as healing progresses. Others seek periodic sessions for maintenance or during times of stress. The practitioner will discuss a recommended treatment plan during your initial consultation and adjust based on your response and progress.
