Initial Consultation
Your practitioner will begin by discussing your health history, current concerns, and specific goals for treatment. They will ask about any pain, stress levels, emotional state, and areas where you seek support or balance. This conversation helps the practitioner understand your needs and develop an appropriate treatment plan. You may also be asked about your comfort with touch and any physical sensations or preferences.
Treatment
You will typically sit comfortably in a chair or recline on a massage table, remaining fully clothed. The practitioner will begin by centering themselves and focusing their intention on facilitating healing. They will then move their hands slowly over and around your body, typically starting at your head or shoulders, working downward. Hands may hover just above the skin or make light contact, depending on the practitioner's approach and your preference. The session often feels deeply relaxing; many people report feeling warmth, tingling, or a sense of energy movement. The entire treatment usually lasts 20–60 minutes. Throughout, the practitioner remains attentive to your energy field and may pause or adjust their approach based on what they perceive.
After Treatment
Many clients feel deeply relaxed, peaceful, or energized immediately following a session. Some experience a temporary intensification of symptoms as the body begins to rebalance (sometimes called a "healing response"), while others feel immediate relief. You may be advised to rest, drink water, and allow time for integration. It is common to feel effects unfold over the following hours or days. Your practitioner may offer self-care suggestions or gentle grounding practices to support your well-being.
Follow-up Sessions
Treatment plans vary based on your condition and goals. Some people benefit from weekly sessions initially, while others may transition to monthly maintenance. Your practitioner will discuss frequency and duration with you and adjust based on your response. Many find Therapeutic Touch most effective when combined with other self-care practices such as meditation, exercise, and conventional medical care.
