Initial Consultation
Your session begins with a thorough skin assessment. Your practitioner will examine your skin type, texture, hydration levels, and any specific concerns such as fine lines, dryness, sensitivity, or uneven tone. They will ask about your current skincare routine, any known sensitivities or allergies, recent treatments, and your hydration and wellness goals. This information helps tailor the treatment to your individual needs and ensures the hyaluronic acid concentration and complementary products are appropriate for your skin.
Treatment
The facial typically begins with a gentle cleanse to remove impurities and prepare the skin. A light exfoliation or gentle enzyme treatment may follow to slough away dead skin cells and enhance product penetration, though this step may be omitted for sensitive skin. The skin is then patted dry, and a hydrating toner or essence is applied to balance pH and prime the skin.
A serum or gel containing hyaluronic acid is then applied in upward, gentle strokes across the face, neck, and décolletage. The practitioner may use their hands, a facial roller, or a gentle massage technique to encourage absorption and stimulate circulation. A hydrating mask—often containing HA, glycerin, ceramides, or peptides—is then applied and left to sit for 10–20 minutes, allowing the active ingredients to penetrate deeply.
After the mask is removed with lukewarm water or a soft cloth, a lightweight hydrating moisturizer and broad-spectrum sunscreen (if daytime) are applied to seal in the benefits and protect the skin barrier.
After Treatment
Immediately after the facial, your skin should feel plump, hydrated, and refreshed. Some clients experience a subtle glow and improved texture. Mild redness may occur if exfoliation was included, but this typically subsides within a few hours. Your practitioner will provide aftercare instructions, typically recommending that you avoid hot water, heavy makeup, and active ingredients (like vitamin C or retinol) for 24 hours to allow the skin to fully absorb the hydration and recover.
Follow-up Sessions
Results are often visible after a single treatment, with improved hydration and a brighter complexion lasting several days to a week. For sustained benefits, practitioners commonly recommend monthly facials or treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Some clients integrate hyaluronic acid serums and moisturizers into their home skincare routine between professional sessions to maintain hydration and extend the benefits of the treatment.
