Refund a session, bundle or ticket
Open the sale from Bookings, on the Sales tab, and select Manage, or open the booking itself and select Refund. Choose the amount, add a reason the client will see, and confirm. The money goes back to the client's original payment method and the client is notified. Gift cards can't be refunded.
- Find the sale
Go to Bookings and open the Sales tab. Filter by Sessions, Bundles, Event tickets or Courses & retreats, then select Manage on the sale.
- A single session
Enter the amount (it starts at the full amount) and a reason. The reason is shared with the client. Then select Refund.
- A bundle
Select Refund bundle and choose Unused sessions (the default), Full refund or Custom amount. For a full or custom refund, Also cancel their upcoming booked sessions is ticked. Untick it if those sessions should still go ahead.
- An event ticket or course date
Also cancel their place is ticked. Untick it to refund without cancelling, or select Cancel place only to cancel without a refund.
- Confirm
You'll see Refunded and the amount, and the client gets a notification.
Refunds go through Gyfts, not your Stripe dashboard. If the booking carried a Gyfts platform fee, that fee is returned in proportion to the refund.
Questions
Is there a time limit on refunds?
Gyfts sets no time limit. Stripe's own limits still apply, and if Stripe can't process a refund, you'll see its reason on screen so you can decide what to do next.
Can I refund a gift card?
No. Gift cards can't be refunded. The sessions and tickets bought with a gift card can be refunded like any other sale, following the same steps above.
