Set your cancellation policy

Short answer

Go to Settings, then Cancellation & refunds. Use Gyfts Standard, or set your own policy for everything or by offering type. Each booking keeps the policy it was bought under, so changes only affect new bookings.

  1. Open it

In your menu, open Settings, then Cancellation & refunds. Organizations: the same place in your organization's Settings.

  2. Choose how it applies

Use Gyfts Standard, One policy for all my offerings, or Different policies by offering type. For the last one, tick the types that get their own rules; the rest follow your main policy.

  3. Set the refund rules

Pick Flexible or Strict, or Custom to set a full refund up to a number of hours before, an optional partial refund, and whether clients can cancel online and when that closes.

  4. Review and save

You'll see exactly what clients will read for each type. Select Save policy. Save and finish later keeps a draft on this device only.

The options at a glance

  • Gyfts Standard: full refund 48 hours or more before, 50% between 24 and 48 hours, nothing under 24 hours. Online cancellation until 24 hours before.
  • Flexible: full refund 24 hours or more before, nothing under 24 hours. Online cancellation until 24 hours before.
  • Strict: full refund 7 days or more before, 50% between 3 and 7 days, nothing under 3 days. Online cancellation until 3 days before.

Good to know

  • Cancelling online and getting money back are separate. After online cancellation closes, clients message you, and your refund rules still apply.
  • Bundles, courses and retreats can't be cancelled online. Clients send you a request, and you refund from Sales.
  • Gyfts adds a few protections you can't reduce: a full refund if you cancel, and a full refund if the client cancels within 1 hour of booking, before the session starts.
  • Organizations: owners and managers can change the policy, and billing managers can see it. Staff practitioners' bookings follow the organization's policy.
